Student Residence Hall

Merano (VE)

Competition

The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the existing Student Residence Hall.

The project can expand further in height, as it is made up of repeatable horizontal modules. The project has a modular structure formed by two similar blocks, which are arranged to form a 90° angle. This new volume differs little from the silhouette of the pre-existing building, but corrects planimetric inaccuracies and distances from the boundaries, creating a better insertion into the built environment. The road block has a plane less than the inner block

A gallery connects the two blocks, allowing:
  • the access to the balconies from all the units,
  • the inclusion of a single elevator,
  • the inclusion of only two stairs

There are 34 identical autonomous residential units, each of which can accommodate 3 students
